Drive-Thru
*The subject of this painting is typical of things I enjoyed painting in the 70's. The method of painting is much more recent as I have explained in an earlier post. The tree growing up in the midst of the old truck has been a familiar site for many years at the flea market in Monroe, NC.18x24

*This painting is from a snapshot that I made of my dad about 30 years ago. His name was Albert. There is your clue as to the title.I enjoyed the underpainting so much that I wanted to leave much of it untouched. That is how I came up with the idea of the art gallery setting.

From Oil to Acrylic
In 1999 I decided to quit using oil paint. This was after two sinus surgeries. I felt that acrylics would be less irritating to me. This change of medium certainly was difficult after many years of painting with oil. I decided to give up any commercial concerns for a while and just play and explore with acrylic. The following posts will show my evolving journey with acrylics.
